Zakrzowek Lake

Zakrzowek Lake

Zakrzówek lake was created in 1990, after the limestone quarry there flooded.

Nowadays it is a popular tourist attraction (mostly with locals), but officially it isn't really open to the public. It is fenced off, but there are many holes in the fence and on a hot summer's day you will see plenty of other people there.

It is really hard to explain how to find the right gaps in the fence - your best bet is to just take a guess! But be careful - the whole area is dangerous. There have been lots of accidents and even deaths (from drowning, or from falling down the side of the cliffs). Be careful if you go there!

There is a commercial company that offers scuba diving there (of up to 31 meters). Because it was a quarry until they drilled too low and it flooded, there are plenty of things under the water. They include a bus, truck, boat, small structures. Visibility under water is around 15 meters.

There is one area that is padlocked off, but some people have a key. They purchase access to this area, and from experience they want nothing to do with anyone who doesn't have a key!
